IALD Celebrates Women In Lighting (WIL)’s 5th Anniversary

February 6, 2024

As part of the six-day events at Light + Building 2024 in Frankfurt, the IALD is honored to join Women In Lighting (WIL) in celebration of International Women’s Day and recognition of their fifth anniversary.

On 7 March, the IALD is hosting a full day of content on the Design Plaza stage in Hall 3.1 B 50, and the final session of the day from 6:00 to 7:00 PM is IALD x WIL: a fast-paced, fun, and fascinating “PechaKucha”-styled panel of eight lighting design professionals — four women, four men — who will have 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide on the topic of Inspirational Women.

The confirmed panel roster to date includes:
  • Francesca Feltrin, Associate IALD (Switzerland)
  • Cherine Saroufim, IALD (Lebanon)
  • Andrea Hartranft, FIALD (United States)
  • Carla Wilkins, IALD (Germany)
  • Philip Rafael, IALD (Germany)

(Three male designers are still being sought for this energetic and uplifting presentation; please email Sharon Stammers of Light Collective if interested.)

Drinks are to be served at the reception; both organizations are looking forward to the opportunity to join with the attending audience in celebrating International Women’s Day, the ongoing accomplishments of Women In Lighting, and the success of women in lighting design worldwide.
