Lighting Game Show at ArchLIGHT Summit Will Benefit IALD Education Trust

ArchLIGHT Summit, the lighting trade event and educational platform held at the Dallas Market Center in September, has announced event details for the Lovers of Light interactive game show being held on the event’s Light Bites stage at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19.

Lovers of Light, a popular team game show comprised of some of the industry’s leading designers squaring off to debate lighting topics, will overlap and co-locate with a Happy Hour, which starts at 5 p.m. on the ArchLIGHT Summit show floor and is sponsored by Casambi.

Lovers of Light, hosted by industry veterans Ron Steen and Dave Young of ETC, will pose a variety of debate topics and questions in a fun and entertaining format. Six contestants – comprised of manufacturers, designers, and sales representatives – will debate the pros and cons of 6 topics related to the lighting industry, such as: Light and Health-the new future of lighting, or still too early; Dark Sky–Do dark sky design requirements create a better outdoor design; and Credentials – do they matter?

Attendees are invited to listen and participate in the game show, which will provide insight into key business and technical topics as well as help develop strategies for their business.

ArchLIGHT Summit Lovers of Light Contestants are:

Ed Bartholomew, Principal of Bartholomew Lighting, a black-owned design consultancy based in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Katheryn Czub, Senior Associate and Studio Leader at Fisher Marantz Stone’s Austin office, with more than 10 years of experience in architectural lighting design

Lovers of Light is being held as a benefit to support the IALD Education Trust, a not-for-profit charitable educational organization that provides direct support to educators and students for the purpose of promoting the study of architectural lighting design. Event sponsors include Casambi and ETC, although individual contributions can be made to the Trust on-site during the event. All ArchLIGHT Summit participants are welcome to enjoy food, open bar, and prizes.

In addition to Lovers of Light, ArchLIGHT Summit attendees will have access to 25+ seminars, discussions, and events offering timely and accredited sessions for lighting solutions, trends, and standards, but also addressing agency dynamics, diversity and inclusion, workplace evolution, and allyship.
